Lovely old place. Food and staff were lovely. Rooms were nice and a good size. Due to the age of the place the floors were very creaky and you could hear noise from the people sitting outside. You could also hear others when they went to their rooms. I was tired so this didn't bother me too much but if you are affected by noise probably not for you. Having said that I would stay again.
Stayed at the inn and thought the rooms were a good size and very comfortable. During our stay there happened to be a pub quiz night running which was fun entertainment! Menu had a great range of choices, including very good alternative options for gluten-free and dairy-free requirements. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Definitely would recommend!
We were met with a friendly welcome. Our room was really lovely, very clean, nicely decorated and we loved the old beams. We ate in the restaurant the evening we arrived and had a very good meal, well cooked fresh ingredients, plated nicely and very hot on arrival at our table. There was a very good choice of cooked dishes available at breakfast and again, the ingredients were of good quality and cooked well. The only thing that we felt could be improved was the quality of the toilet tissue - OK, we're being picky, but everything else was great so why not put decent loo roll in the rooms?
Excellent location on the outskirts of Harrogate with very clean rooms and helpful staff. The cooked breakfast is outstanding.
Called in on the off chance of a table for 2, Saturday lunchtime. We were accomodated no problem. The food was good, as was the service. Great!
After using the shower at night before going to bed, it repeatedly dripped through the night, waking me up. My friends staying in another room experienced the same. It wasn't too bad as once we shut the bathroom door we could not hear it.
Couldn’t recommend this place enough, the accommodation was comfortable and clean, with great decor, the food in the evenings was 10/10 and same goes with breakfast, the service was great too. I will definitely be back.
Stayed 3 nights for a wedding anniversary break. Comfy bed, tea and coffee in room, good TV, but needs soundproofing as we could hear every word from next door’s TV. We actually bought earplugs!! Room clean except for a bit of dust on the beams but would stay there again as we like innkeepers lodges.
